I will always love my Vampire Diaries and it pains me to say anything negative about it, but this season has been my least favorite. How many times have we seen someone take over someone else's body, Damon get hurt and go off the deep end, Matt get pushed around etc.? It's just the same old things in a slightly different situation. I want to see something new. I will say that the one positive thing about Katherine taking over Elena's body from a writing standpoint is that we get to see a change in the love triangle without Elena just flip flopping between the brothers. We knew that Damon and Elena couldn't stay happy for long. That just wouldn't be interesting. So I would prefer Katherine being the reason for the shift than if it were Elena just deciding she wanted Stefan back. I'm just trying to enjoy the funny aspects of Katherine-as-Elena like her outing Caroline and Klaus to Tyler and throwing herself at Stefan. I have to keep up hope that Damon will figure out what is going on, save Elena and fix their relationship. But now that he has become a vampire who feeds on vampires it might be a little more unlikely for him to be the one doing the saving. At least that is something new, so I can appreciate that.
